After graduating from Gladstone, I attended the University of Oregon where I met my husband Matthew Welters through mutual friends in my sorority and his fraternity. We quickly found out as we dated, that he too was from Portland, (unfortunately) he went to rival LaSalle High School. This led to some initial animosity between us, until we realized that we had some mutual friends. It was there that I majored in Education and minored in: Business; Communications; Planning, Public Policy & Management and Special Education.
Immediately following our wedding June 4, 2006, I began my Master's Program in Teaching in Learning at the University of Oregon. A year later after I completed my program we packed up and left for San Francisco. I immediately began working for Pottery Barn, and shortly thereafter Matthew started his Master's Program in Nursing. He has since completed his program, and now works at a RN on the Pediatric Oncology Unit at University of California San Francisco. I am now looking at law schools, as we take turns on who is in school at the time ; )
We love our City by the Bay, and our apartment with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. In our free time we love to go wine tasting, explore different neighborhoods and restaurants, read, listen to live music, and practice yoga. I'm also training for my first marathon with Team in Training for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in October. I have enjoyed the team environment, fundraising activities, and giving back to a cause that is near and dear to our hearts!
